Orion™ Panel Design Consultation

Design a spatial biomarker panel starting from your target list

Book your panel design consultation

Meet with a RareCyte spatial biology specialist to review your study goals, evaluate your biomarker list, and build a high-performance panel using Orion’s Panel Designer.

What to expect from this consultation

1. Review your target list

  • Share the markers you are considering: T-cell subsets, macrophage states, checkpoint targets, tumor markers, others
  • Assess which markers are available in Orion's validated conjugate library
  • Identify where custom development may be needed

2. Design the panel together

  • Using the Panel Designer tool, walk through channel assignment for your biomarker list
  • Show how each gets mapped to the optimal channel to build a high-performance panel (For most panels, this takes 10 minutes)

3. Discuss your study design

  • Discuss panel validation process
  • Map project timelines to meet your study goals
  • Review any custom biomarker development needed for your application

After submission, a RareCyte specialist will be in touch within one business day.

Rapid, flexible panel development using Orion

Orion simplifies panel design with an extensive portfolio of validated reagents, straightforward custom biomarker integration, a single-round staining workflow, and automated channel mapping using the Panel Designer tool.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be evaluating an instrument purchase to book a consultation?

No. The consultation is a technical conversation about panel design. Our goal is to help move your research forward.

If you are interested in services, RareCyte offers lab services for panel development and sample testing. We also work with a network of service provider partners who can run samples for you.

How many biomarkers can be in my panel?

Many researchers use panels of 8–18 protein biomarkers, which can be stained and imaged in a single round. Orion also supports higher-plex applications when additional biomarkers are needed.

What if my biomarkers are not in the validated library?

Markers outside the validated library can be integrated using straightforward amine conjugation chemistry. For programs requiring additional support, RareCyte's lab services can assist with custom biomarker development.

Can Orion handle the volume my program needs?

Orion HT supports high-throughput studies with capacity for 100+ slides per week, making it suitable for larger cohorts and multi-user research environments.

How do I get started?

Come prepared to discuss your biomarker list and study goals during the consultation. Our team will review your targets, recommend available reagents, and help design a panel using the Orion Panel Designer.
